Five seminarians receive candidacy from cardinal

The photograph above was taken after an Aug. 30 Mass of the Holy Spirit at Mundelein Seminary in Illinois. During the ceremony five men of the Archdiocese of Dubuque received candidacy from Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, archbishop of Chicago. Candidacy is the public declaration of a seminarian’s intention to be a priest and the Catholic Church’s acceptance of it. Also in the picture is Father Mark Ressler of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish of Hiawatha, who is the pastor for Eric Zenisek and Jake Dunne.
