St. Stephen Catholic Student Center awarded Northeast Iowa Food Bank award

Students are named the Top Volunteer Group for 2016

CEDAR FALLS — Students and members of the Catholic Student Center on the University of Northern Iowa campus were awarded the Top Volunteer Group award for 2016 by the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. These volunteers put in 262 hours helping clean, sort and mark donations, stocking shelves and assembling snack bags for the backpack program, as well as other assignments.

St. Stephen the Witness Catholic Student Center in Cedar Falls serves the Cath­olic community on the UNI campus. Catholic students at UNI have studied and witnessed to their faith for over 100 years (1897-present). The Catholic Student Center is the oldest and the largest UNI student organization on campus.

The students who were present to receive a certificate from the Northeast Iowa Food Bank are from the Dubuque, Des Moines and Sioux City dioceses.
