Snow message reminds all of Jesus’ love

DUBUQUE — Workers at the the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center in Dubuque and people walking by on the street were surprised to see a message in snow as they started the work day Jan. 27 that reminded all of Jesus’ love for them.

Written in the snow in large letters on the ground in front of the center offices and nearby Vianney House were the words “You are loved always.”  Beside the word “always” was what appeared to be the Chi-Ro. The symbol, often used in Christian art, superimposes the first two letters of the Greek word for Christ (XP).

Because of its size, it was visible from the windows on the Mt. Loretta Avenue side of the pastoral center building.  The message appeared after a fresh snowfall  on Jan. 24.
